These instructions apply to the earlier Windows 11 x64 edition offered for $29. The newer guided-investigation, Evidence Finder, enhanced reporting and cross-platform 0.5.0 edition is still in development and is not contained in this purchase.

Before buying: Confirm you have Windows 11 on a 64-bit Intel/AMD computer and Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. The offered package is unsigned and stores project data locally in plaintext. Mac and Linux versions are not released.

From payment to first investigation

  1. Complete Stripe checkout.The live payment link is for the one-time Windows 0.3.3 license. Confirm the total, tax, and seller details on Stripe before paying.
  2. Return to your private receipt and download page.After confirmation Stripe redirects to proofdesk-store.starryskunk8.chatgpt.site. Keep your receipt link private. The established storefront displays payment status and access to eligible downloads. A downloaded link may expire and be refreshed from the receipt page.
  3. Download the offered Windows package.Use the Windows 0.3.3 package from your receipt, not an unverified mirror or a Mac/Linux candidate. If a SHA-256 checksum is provided, verify it against the downloaded file.
  4. Extract the entire ZIP before launch.For the browser-based portable Windows edition, extract all files into a writable folder and open Start-ProofDesk.cmd. The package includes its own runtime; you do not need to install Node.js separately. Keep the launcher open while working.
  5. Open the local workspace.Use Edge or Chrome when prompted. ProofDesk operates through a loopback-only local research service. It is not a public account or shared cloud workspace.
  6. Start with fictional data, then secure your own research.Try the fictional demonstration or import the three example CSV registers. Keep real projects and backups on storage you control. Review all approved-only exports carefully before sharing.
Unsigned software warning: This edition is not code-signed. Do not disable antivirus or operating-system safeguards blindly. Download only through the receipt that follows the genuine Stripe checkout and inspect the supplied file and checksum. Contact support if the identity, file, or warning is unexpected.

Upgrades, backups, and privacy

Preserve your work

Research project files and backups are stored in your local user-data location, separate from the extracted software folder. Export a private JSON backup before installing an update. Never send witness or confidential source data by email when requesting support.

Updates

The owner-approved license includes 12 months of updates that actually become available and setup or reproducible bug support. This does not guarantee a release date for 0.5.0 or for Mac/Linux. Test an update with a backup first.

Help, access, and refunds

If Stripe processes payment but the receipt or download does not appear, contact thegoodarchivist@gmail.com with your transaction reference and error message, but not private investigations. Refunds may be requested within 30 calendar days; the license ends on refund. The paid-download path has not been independently retested with a new purchase in this chat.
